ABOUT MAMACUNA TRADERS™
Mamacuna Traders™, LLC was founded in March of 2007 while standing in awe at the barrage of color and texture of handmade crafts in the Inca Market in Lima, Peru. A couple of Pisco Sours later, we officially recognized the fact we were on a new entrepreneurial bender. Our goal was to bring the wonder of craftsmanship from around the world right to your computer screen for your global buying pleasure.
So, who is Mamacuna? She wasn't any one particular person, but a group of women in charge of teaching young Inca girls the traditions of their culture and preparing them for their future, whatever that may be. As artists ourselves, we also know the importance of providing inspiration and preserving artistic traditions for generations to come. The name Mamacuna to us means to mentor and pass on these great global arts and crafts before they become obsolete.
At Mamacuna Traders we are working to bring you beautiful items for your home reflecting your worldly style. Sharing these crafts also means sharing the stories of the people that make them and helping to pass on the wisdom of Fair Trade and other sustainable business practices. Whether it's paying up front for goods yet to be made in order to support disadvantaged artisans or recycling packaging material, Mamacuna Traders believes that successful business practices benefits everyone, including the planet.
